For everyone who tests or runs testing and wants to work with AI systematically

Testers and test analysts

You want to write acceptance criteria, test cases and test data faster with AI, and be sure the result matches the requirements.

Test automation engineers

You want AI to help you write and maintain test scripts and analyze regression reports.

Test managers and QA leads

You decide how GenAI comes into your team, with clear rules for data handling, security and output quality.

Also a good fit for developers, business analysts, project managers and quality managers.

What you need

Level: advanced ISTQB course, follows Foundation Level

ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) certificate
ISTQB requires it before you can take the CT-GenAI exam.

Working English
The course and the exam are both in English.

Where this course sits on the ISTQB path

  1. 1 · Foundation Foundation Level (CTFL) The core ISTQB certificate. Required for the advanced module exams.
  2. 2 · Advanced modules Advanced Level Advanced ISTQB certifications. They build on CTFL; you choose modules by role.

What you’ll learn, day by day

The course covers the full official ISTQB CT-GenAI v1.1 syllabus. You try most topics straight away on hands-on testing tasks.

DAY 1 Thu 19 Nov · 9:00–17:00 CET

How AI works and how to steer it with prompts

  1. Ch. 1How large language models work: tokens, the context window, multimodal input and their limits
  2. Ch. 2Anatomy of a testing prompt: role, context, instructions, input data, constraints and output format
  3. Ch. 2Techniques: prompt chaining, few-shot and meta prompting
  4. Ch. 2AI across test activities: analysis, test design, test data, automation and reporting
  5. Ch. 2How to evaluate AI output and improve your prompts step by step

Hands-on: acceptance criteria and test cases from user stories

DAY 2 Fri 20 Nov · 9:00–17:00 CET

Risks, tools and rolling it out in your team

  1. Ch. 3Hallucinations, reasoning errors and bias: how to spot and reduce them
  2. Ch. 3Data privacy, security, energy use and the rules for AI (regulation, standards, good practice)
  3. Ch. 4AI in the test infrastructure: RAG, AI agents, fine-tuning and LLMOps
  4. Ch. 5Bringing GenAI into a test organization: strategy, choosing models, adoption phases and building team skills

Hands-on: provoking hallucinations in two different models

Official CT-GenAI v1.1 syllabus (PDF)

Can you read between the lines?

On the course you practice finding hallucinations, faulty reasoning and bias in AI output. Sample exercises from the official syllabus:

Acceptance criteria from a user story and a screen sketch

AI drafts acceptance criteria from a user story and a wireframe. You check them against the requirements and sharpen them.

Test cases with a coverage check

You chain prompts to turn user stories into test cases, then find the requirements that were left without a test.

Hallucination on purpose

You deliberately trigger hallucinations in two different models and compare how the wording of the prompt changes them.
